So far I have really enjoyed this book. The one thing that I really liked about the book is that the story is told in the teacher's perspective and also in the student's perspective. But the one thing that I noticed and questioned is that out of all of his students in his career, why pick the ones that he did. Did he choose these ones because they impacted him the most? Or was it the opposite and that they were his students that gave him the most trouble? I also noticed that when the students wrote letters or paragraphs explaining their lives, the grammar in the writing progrssively got better with each letter. I liked how it showed growth and the impact that education had on these students. I also thought that it was very strange that Mr. Michie tried so hard to get in touch with Taveres years later because most teachers would not go that far for a student. So far the book is awesome and cannot wait to read more :)
